Just days after revealing the sex of his third child, Michael Bublé has opened up about his family struggles after his four-year-old sons cancer battle.
Michael and his wife Luisana Lopilato suffered their “worst year ever” in 2016 when Noah was diagnosed with stomach cancer when he just three-years-old.
Singer Michael, 42, spoke to the Herald Sun about the struggles his family went through during that tough time.
“Ive been to hell. I dont talk about the whole story, not even to my friends because it hurts too much,” he told the publication.
“Its my boy. Hes a superhero, he doesnt need to relive it over and again. But Ive been to hell. And you know what, hell seems like a really nice place to vacation compared to where weve been.”
The Grammy Award-winning singer also revealed he and his wife put their careers on hold after the diagnosis to focus on Noahs recovery.
“I truly thought Id never come back to music. Family is what matters,” he said, adding: “The health of my children is No.1. The relationship with my family, my wife, my faith — all of it is easily No. 1.”
As four-year-old Noah has since recovered and is no longer receiving treatment, Michael has returned to work while he awaits the birth of his third child with Luisana, 31.
“Its cancer so obviously we have to monitor it but I wouldnt be [getting back into the spotlight] if he wasnt okay,” Michael said.
This difficult time has also given Michael a fresh outlook on his career. “Perspective has allowed me to rekindle my love of music,” he added.
“When I went through Noahs cancer from the first moment there was a snap. I remember sitting in the hospital room thinking, I was worried about any of that s**t? I was worried about record sales or a meme or what some a–hole said about me? In a second it had gotten so clear.”
Last week, Michael let slip that he and Luisana are expecting a baby girl, and shes due to arrive in just three weeks.
Speaking on Irelands Today FM this week, Michael said: “Ive got my first little girl coming in three weeks, and Ive actually never said that before in public. Ive got a daughter coming.”
The happy couple are already parents to sons Noah, four, and Elias, two.
