Following a difficult separation with her husband Matthew Robertson, Davina McCall has opened up about how marriage left her almost friendless.
Despite her fame and fortune, Davina found her friendships falling by the wayside as she juggled her home and work life.
With her countless presenting jobs, charity work and popular books and fitness DVDs, its little wonder the busy mum-of-three had no time to see friends.
In an interview with OK! magazine, the TV presenter, 50, said: “As you get older you realise how important friendships are. I used to have one best friend because I was so busy with the kids, my marriage and everything else, but now I have got lots of close friends.”
Davina separated from husband Matthew at the end of last year. They have two daughters, Holly and Tilly, and a son, Chester.
Davina also revealed that she encourages her children to be body positive and never talks about weight in the house. She also bans scales, and doesnt know how much her daughters weigh.
“We dont have scales in our house and we never talk about weight,” she said. “I dont know how much the girls weigh, and neither do they.”
Davina isnt shy when it comes to flaunting her incredible physique, but the presenter has had to face her fair share of trolls and online criticism. A recent bikini selfie left fans uncomfortable with her toned physique, with one commenting: “Little worrying sorry not being nasty but looking too skinny taken it a little far x”
Another added: “Too thin, definitely not a nice look for a woman in her 50s. Very ageing.”
Despite some nasty comments, Davina continues to share with followers, and copes with negativity by ignoring it.
“I like social media because its so positive in lots of areas but I actually ended up ignoring what was being said and kept posting,” she told OK!
“Im fit and healthy, theres nothing wrong with me. I hope people look and think Oh my God shes in her fifties and still going strong.”
We cant argue with that – you look fab, Davina!
