The 53-year-old presenter uploaded a photo of himself with Cheryl at the Syco summer party last night, and couldnt resist making a dig.
Simons annual party was Cheryls first public appearance since she announced her split from Liam Payne – the father of her one-year-old son Bear, last month.
The pair who had been dating for more than two years, announced they were going their separate ways by posting statements on social media.
The singer was all smiles as she stepped out in a vibrant orange dress at the swanky event yesterday evening, and showed no signs of her recent heartbreak.
Piers was quick to suggest a new dating strategy for the former Girls Aloud star, 34, who is now single, after splitting with Liam, 24. He captioned the snap: Cheryl bouncing back with a new older man strategy at Simon Cowells summer party.
Fans were quick to reach out in support of Cheryl, with one commenting: No man in his right mind would let that woman walk away absolutely beautiful with a cute accent.

Cheryl clearly wasnt bothered by the comments made last month about her split from Liam.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, the presenter said: Why do we categorise more than two years as some sort of an achievement. Its not really is it.
Cheryl and Liam announced their split last week by both tweeting the same statement, with Chezzas post reading:We are sad to announce that we are going our separate ways. Its been a tough decision for us to make. We still have so much love for each other as a family.
Bear is our world and we ask that you respect his privacy as we navigate our way through this together, they added.
