HOLIDAY: Dubai's visa rule changes means family holidays will be cheaper for Brits

If youre looking to holiday in Dubai this year, changes to visa rules means your family summer holiday could be a lot cheaper.

A study by TravelSupermarket found that travelling to destinations like Abu Dhabi or Dubai can actually work out 59% cheaper than holidaying in the Costa del Sol in Spain.

And now Brits can make even bigger savings thanks to a number of changes designed to entice visitors to the UAE.

Dubai has just announced free visas for tourists under 18 years of age during the summer – making family holidays much cheaper.

Last month they also revealed tourists can get free transit visas for 48 hours. This means people traveling through the airport can explore the city while they wait for their next flight.

Tourists can even extend this visa to 96 hours for just Dh50 (around £10).

Obtaining a transit visa will be facilitated by a number of express counter at the passport-control hall across UAE airports.

Under 18s can get a free visa of up to two months between the summer period from 15th July to 15th September of each year.

The move, approved by the UAE cabinet, will exempt accompanying dependents of foreign tourists under the age of 18 from visa fees.
