Loose Women star Gloria Hunniford has hit out at fellow ITV star Kate Garraway after she made a shock revelation about her marriage.
Kate, 51, confessed over the weekend that she occasionally likes to make husband Derek Draper jealous to keep the spark alive and this definitely didnt impress Gloria.
“See, I love Kate, but I think thats pathetic, if Im being honest,” Gloria, 78. admitted during a discussion on Mondays Loose Women.
“Because I think to play games, I mean it would be different if you were 18 or 19 to play games like that, but what is Kate? 51?
“To be still playing games making your husband jealous or to make yourself feel good because you think somebody else fancies you…
“I mean to me, thats just the road to nowhere.”
The presenter – who has been married to second husband Stephen Way since 1998 – went on to explain that she thinks bad jealousy can cause big relationship problems.
“Theres good jealousy and bad jealousy. If I saw a woman engaging with my husband for too long Id question it,” Gloria explained.
“But I have said this in the past and I think if youre in a nice relationship you do get jealous because you really love that person and you really care.
“I know a lot of relationships have broken up because of bad jealousy.”
Glorias view on Kates confession might seem harsh but many viewers admitted that they agreed with her.
“Woahhh!! Get in there Gloria!! HUNNIFORD SLAMS GARRAWAY! #LooseWomen,” one wrote on Twitter, whilst another said: “Gloria is speaking sense”
Meanwhile her fellow panellists tried to lighten the mood when Chizzy Akudolu joked about the topic: “Ive never had a husband to answer this question.”
This prompted Coleen Nolan – who recently split from second husband Ray Fensome – to quip in response: “Oh dont worry about that Ive had two.”
It comes after Kate opened up about her marriage to Derek and confessed that they like to tease each other about finding other people attractive.
“At the school fête last week there was a very hot ice-cream seller. I mentioned this to Derek and for the past week hes been teasing me about Mr Whippy, Nobbly Bobblies and 69s,” the Good Morning Britain star told the Mail On Sundays You magazine. “But this kind of banter keeps things healthy.
“I also like making him a little bit jealous every now and again; reminding him that I am alive and someone might fancy me – especially as he knows I would never act on it.”
