EARTHQUAKE FOOTAGE: A video of swimmers during a Nepalese natural disaster has gone viral

There is always a chance that you could be struck by a natural disaster on holiday.

While thinking about this possibility can seem depressing, the affects of these phenomenons can be devastating.

When hotel CCTV captured the effects of an earthquake, travel fans were left shaken by the footage.

In the clip, a group of swimmers can be seen paddling in a pool in Nepal.

As a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hits, they begin frantically treading water.

The shake causes the water to form into waves, which then begin crashing around them.

While the video was shot in 2015, it has been trending on Reddit today.

Dare you travel to the most DANGEROUS holiday destinations in the world?

Over the past 8 hours, the clip has racked up more than 13,000 likes on the viral platform.

Many chimed in that the footage had left them feeling worried.

One commenter wrote: “Oh my! This is scary.”

Another said: “Oh good. Something new to be terrified of.”

As similar pool incidents have occurred in the past, advice has been issued to the public.

Typically, earthquake procedures advise you to find an area of open space.

You are then advised to drop to the floor, covering your head and neck with your arms.

But if youre swimming, it may be safer to remain where you are.

World's most damaging natural disasters

The world has witnessed numerous disasters over the centuries and although most are man-made due to wars and terrorism, mother nature certainly dishes out her fair share of damage. Deadly Tornado hits Uruguay, April 2016 Barcroft Deadly Tornado hits Uruguay, April 2016

In various countries, emergency drills encourage you to head to the middle of the pool.

According to Swimming New Zealand, you should “stay away from the pool ends and sides”.

If you are in a large group, youre advised to create a secure huddle and hold on tight.

Once the shaking subsides, youre advised to evacuate the waters safely.
