Ross Kemp was flooded with messages of support from fans after confirming the death of his beloved nan on Sunday.
The 53-year-old actor shared the devastating news with his 200,000 followers on Twitter, and many were quick to send him their condolences.
The former Eastenders star, who played hard man Grant Mitchell, posted a picture of him and his 92–year-old grandmother and captioned it: “Sharing this photo again as my funny, lovely, very tough Nan died today. Born in 1920 she was loving and strong.
“My family and those that knew her will miss her. A big thank you to my Mum who loved her so much and to those at Halsey House who looked after her.”
The picture quickly garnered over 16,000 likes and has also been retweeted over 300 times.

“So sorry to hear this news. A lovely picture and the happy memories you shared will ensure she lives on in your heart forever. Rest peacefully now in the arms of the angels Rosss Nan,” one fan commented.
Others shared their experiences of losing a loved one with the BBC soap star, with one fan adding: “What a lovely picture Ross. My late gran was one of the most amazing people in my life and one of the most positive. Thoughts are with you my friend.”
The Extreme World presenter regularly shares his life on social media and most recently became an internet sensation with some unusual football celebration tweets.
Last month he shared a cute photo of himself with ex-Eastenders co-star Dame Barbara Windsor, who recently revealed she was suffering from Alzheimers.
Ross wrote alongside the photo: “Visiting my lovely Bar…whoops, I mean Dame Barbara Windsor x.”

As soon as the news of Dame Windsors illness was made public by the actress husband, Scott Mitchell, Ross offered his support by writing: “Very proud of Scott and Barbara for speaking openly about Barbaras diagnosis. I hope by talking openly it will make it easier for others to talk about this dreadful disease. I love both Barbara and Scott very much.”
