Susanna Reid has insisted that she wont be driven out of Good Morning Britain after being targeted by trolls on Twitter.
The presenter recently faced vile abuse from some social media users who labelled her a bigot and a d***head, whilst some have suggested that she should leave the show because of her controversial co-presenter Piers Morgan who she often disagrees with.
But Susanna, 47, is determined to stay put in her role.
“People say, How can you carry on working alongside Piers? For the sake of your own dignity, just walk,” the mum-of-three reveals.
“But why should I give up my paid employment because of the person sitting next to me?
“That doesnt make any sense. This is my living, this is how I pay my mortgage.”
Despite often rowing with Piers, 53, on air, Susanna says she has no desire to leave GMB over it.
“It would be awkward if I got up and left,” she tells The Mail On Sunday. “But I dont have any inclination to.
“People also have a go because I take issue with the person sitting next to me. Thats when I know Im winning. Im staying right where I am.”
It comes after Susanna furiously hit out at her critics on Twitter last week for suggesting that she should quit the show.
“Getting hit from left and right. Criticised for being too opinionated…and too quiet. Accused of being a snowflake and a c—. Too liberal … too enabling, good-looking, but… My skin just gets thicker by the second,” the TV star tweeted.
“Half my critics think I should leave MY paid employment because THEY take issue with the person sitting next to me. The other half think I should leave, BECAUSE I take issue with the person sitting next to me. Im staying right where I am.”
Susanna first joined Good Morning Britain back in 2014 after leaving BBC Breakfast and Piers then became a permanent member of the team in 2015.
She has previously admitted that they have a love-hate relationship.
