Its the summer break, which means are our favourite This Morning presenters have the summer months off of presenting duty.
Fan-favourite regulars of the daily morning show, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, are off on their jollies for the summer – and have been replaced by Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford during the warmer months.
As well-seasoned This Morning viewers will know, Ruth and Eamon usually take the Friday presentingslot.
However, as they are covering for Holly and Phils Monday – Thursday slot, the Friday show is now in need of a brand new presenting duo.
A TV insider has now revealed to The Mirror who we can expect as the first cover team for Ruth and Eamonns Friday This Morning shift – as Sara Cox and Michael Ball are the surprise new duo!
A source close to the show said: “With Eamonn and Ruth covering Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughbys Monday to Thursday role, it leaves their usual Friday hosting slot open for others to try their hand.”
The source then added: “Bosses have high hopes for Ball and Cox and are delighted they are joining the presenting roster. If it goes well, definitely watch this space.”
Speaking of the upcoming opening in presenting roles, This Mornings editor, Martin Frizell said: “The summer months have always been a key time to try out new items and talent, and I wanted to have a mixture of different presenters this year doing the Fridays to keep it fresh and exciting for the viewers.”
Martin then added: “Eamonn and Ruth also have plans to attend a family wedding during the summer too, so there will be more exciting opportunities for presenters and viewers.”
At present, other names expected to front future Fridays across the summer include Nigel Havers, Rylan Clark-Neal and Alison Hammond.
Fingers crossed for Michael and Sara, who will be hitting the This Morning studio this Friday!
