Shes been a step-mum to Franks children for nine years years, and now – with her own baby on the way – Christine Lampard has revealed how the girls have helped her feel more prepared for motherhood.
The TV presenter is about to become a mum for the first time at the age of 39, but thanks to her two step-children from Franks previous marriage – Luna, 13 and Isla, 11 – Christine feels a little less apprehensive about the whole experience.
“I have had the girls since they were four and two and they are 13 and 11 so I have been through all the toddler years, the primary and secondary school bit and teenagers are around the corner, that is preparation, although the baby years is all new to me! So Ill take it day by day really, like every other new mum,” she revealed.
With the baby due in September/ October, Christine admitted shes feeling “relatively relaxed” – largely due to the ever-changing nature of her job.
“Because of what I do, and what my husband does, we are always open to change constantly,” she explained.
“We have been all over the place and have moved about 20 times during our relationship. You have to be adaptable but as long as your foundations dont change too much, you can work around everything. I wish sometimes I was more of a planner, but I dont seem to have that gene in me.”
Despite feeling calm about their impending arrival, Christine has been faced with challenging times in recent months, as she was forced to come face-to-face with her stalker in court back in June. Giving evidence from behind a curtain at a Newton hearing against Christof King, 39, of Mowbray Road, Brent, she discussed how the “disturbing” and often “sinister and dark” tweets caused her so much concern she showed them to her husband. Christof pleaded guilty to stalking but denied sending the tweets and was handed a nine-month sentence suspended for two years.
