Eeek! Corrie's Jack P Shepherd has hit back at reports that he took a swipe at former Loose Women star Jane McDonald on a recent night out.
According to reports, the 30-year-old actor had drunkenly insulted the popular presenter whilst on an evening out in Manchester, at a bar with some of his fellow soap stars, including Hayley Tamaddon, who plays Del Dingle in Emmerdale, and Daniel Brocklebank, who plays Billy Mayhew in Corrie.
Allegedly, a source told The Sun that Jack began impersonating the Cruising with Jane McDonald star, after Hayley mentioned working with her.
The source reportedly said: “They were drunk and rowdy and getting louder and louder.
“Hayley was talking about being on TV with Jane McDonald and was excited about this. Jack called Jane a cow and started impersonating her, copying her accent, and Hayley kept telling him to stop.”
Uh-oh!
However, Jack has now vehemently denied the speculation, revealing that the story is a “load of c**k”.
He wrote: “ I must sell a lot of papers, what a load of C**k.”
The Corrie veteran was responding to co-star Daniels retweeting of the article, where he too rubbished the claims. Daniel commented: “Slow story day? What a load of rubbish! Non of us were drunk. We had 3 drinks. And nobody was slating anyone. Dont believe what you read folks.”
Earlier this year, Jack P Shepherd received nationwide praise for his portrayal of a difficult storyline for his character David Platt on Coronation Street.
David had found himself a victim of male rape, and was struggling to come to terms with what had happened to him.
Heartbreaking scenes saw the character attempt to self-harm in the wake of the attack, in order to try and cope with the shocking event.
Fans were floored by Jacks emotional performance, and praised him and the soap for shining a light on the issue of male rape. One said at the time: “Last nights episodes were harrowing to watch but its an important story to tell. I believe Corrie will do it justice so I hope it helps victims come forward.”
While another agreed, saying: “well done on this latest story line raising awareness of a serious situation xxx
