Now that we're at the height of the summer, most of us, including celebrities, are jetting off to sunnier climes for a week of rest and relaxation.
Carol McGiffin is one famous face who has headed off on her summer holidays, and luckily for fans, shes been sharing a sneak peek inside her sunny break.
The Loose Women panellist has headed to the stunning Italian city of Venice, with her fiancé Mark Cassidy.
The pair arrived on the weekend, with Carol admitting that it was a long-awaited holiday. Sharing a picture of herself and Mark in front of one of Venices famous canals, she wrote, “Finally made it to Venice. Have booked and had to cancel twice before due to shit happening so third time lucky #venice #hot #packed #dontcare #loveit @cassola21 #10thanniversary”.
Her post didnt make clear which issues the pair had run into before their arrival, but they certainly seemed happy to finally be there!
Later on, the TV star shared a collection of pictures documenting hers and Marks lunch on arrival – beside the stunning vista of the Venice waterways.
Carol tucked in to a delicious-looking meal of seafood pasta alongside the docked gondolas, while both Mark and Carol enjoyed a few glasses of wine and prosecco.
A day into the trip and Carol revealed to fans that she and Mark had decided to visit the iconic St Marks Square, one of the most popular places in the city.
However, the Loose Women presenter didnt seem overly enthralled – explaining it was hot and crowded. But it seems the beautiful music made up for its downfalls.
Alongside a picture of the scene, she wrote, “Ok, its way too crowded, stupidly hot, unbelievably expensive but its absolutely essential because you can have midnight snacks in St Marks Square while listening to beautiful music from a brilliant quintet @cassola21 #Venice”.
On their final night, Carol and Mark opted for an activity a little out of the ordinary – heading to see Dorian Gray at the opera.
Taking a picture in the grand, ornate opera hall, Carol confessed, “At Teatro la Fenice Venezia doing a bit of culture for a change! Dorian Gray the opera! @cassola21 #venice #loveit”.
It seems it really was a whirlwind trip for the two lovebirds, with Carol revealing on her Instagram on Tuesday night that they were enjoying a final lunch.
Snapping another selfie alongside their lunches, Carol wrote, “Final lunch and the best pizzas in town. Ciao Venezia!!!. #damamovenice @cassola21”.
It sounds like the pair have had a lovely, well-deserved break.
