Kym Marsh has revealed that she had to dramatically rush herself to hospital after a frightening health scare.
The Coronation Street star started to experience an unbearable pain in her groin following training for the Manchester Half Marathon and was forced to undergo a series of medical tests.
Now the 42-year-old is awaiting the results to find out the cause of her injury.
“I had a scan and they did some blood tests,” Kym wrote in her OK! magazine column. “I was sent home and told to see my doctor if it continued and it did come back but not as badly.
“They havent found anything and told me it could be hormonal or muscular – its in my groin so it could be the training. I feel fine, so well see what the tests say.”
Fingers crossed that all will be okay for Kym, who is set to compete in the race to raise money for the charity Tommys.
Tommys fund research into stillbirth, premature birth and miscarriage, a subject close to Kyms heart following the death of her son Archie minutes after he was born in 2009.
Kym – who plays Michelle Connor in Coronation Street – has been training hard for the run, which is taking place in October.
Meanwhile the actress also opened up in her column about her blossoming romance with boyfriend Scott Ratcliffe.
The pair started dating recently and Kym has now met Scotts family during a mini break to Scotland.
“We visited the National Wallace Monument in Stirling with Scotts mum Ali. I found it interesting,” she explained.
Kym previously admitted that she wasnt expecting to go into a new relationship so soon after her split from Matt Baker in April following two years together.
“We got papped outside Hotel Gotham on my birthday weekend, which is when the speculation started,” Kym revealed last month. “I genuinely wasnt looking for a new relationship after my split from Matt.
“Both Scott and I were recently single – him some time before I was, hes a good friend of Antony Cotton, who introduced us knowing wed get on well, which turned out to be true.”
Scott is an Army major and Kym has said that theyre keen to keep the relationship as private as possible.
