Once it's gone, it's gone!
It is a sad fact of life that beauty products are discontinued all the time. But we didnt this news coming at all.
In a shock move from the brand, Urban Decay has announced that the original Naked Palette is being discontinued. Truly one of the best eyeshadow palettes there has ever been, the beauty world is pretty devastated.
Sharing the sad news on their Instagram page, the company said: Today the world mourns Urban Decays beloved Naked Palette, the product that revolutionised neutral eyeshadows. A little bit naughty, often dramatic, and always in the press, the innovative game-changer and category creator will be laid to rest after eight years, without a smudge of regret.
Passionate Naked collectors – and pretty much anyone with eyes – will remember Naked as the beauty product that changed their lids forever. It was beautiful and mythical and millions of superfans, from misfits to moms to models, will miss Naked from Virgin to Gunmetal.
Fans expressed their sadness over the loss, with one saying: NOooooooooOOoOoO WHYyyyyyy this one is my favorite !!!
Another added: feels like a part of me has died… DRAMA.
So big is the loss that the brand says theyre holding a funeral in Newport Beach, California, which can be viewed on YouTube.
Theyve been reduced down from £39 to £27.65 on the Urban Decay site, so nows your last chance to snap up one of the iconic palettes before theyre gone for good.
The story behind the palettes creation is a pretty great one; U.D. founder Wende Zomnir asked her development team to choose the eyeshadow shades they couldnt live without. The collection of nude shades then went on to form the first ever Naked palette and the rest, as they say, is history
RIP, Naked. RIP.
