As we prepare for another amazing series of Strictly Come Dancing, it looks like one person won't be making a special appearance.
After being axed from the show earlier this year, Strictly professional Brendan Cole has reportedly been banned from the BBC studios to make sure theres no awkward moments.
Following his shock exit, the 42-year-old is apparently an unwelcome guest during rehearsals and the live shows as bosses dont want the public distracted by his appearance.
A source told The Sun, “Execs know a number of the dancers are still friendly with Brendan so have issued a firm no on anyone having ideas that he will come down to the studios on their friends and family lists.
“They dont want any awkward moments and want the professionals to focus on giving the best they can to the show rather than being distracted by people from the past.”
And while the New-Zealand born star remains a firm favourite with viewers, its been reported that BBC producers want to avoid any rumours of a comeback from the veteran ballroom star.
“It could be confusing for viewers to see Brendan in the audience”, the insider continued.
“They dont want to fuel talk hell come back as thats definitely not going to happen.”
This comes after Brendan revealed back in January that the show had decided not to renew his contract after 15 series.
“Theyve made an editorial decision not to have me back on the show,” he revealed on Lorraine at the time.
“Im in shock. I got a phone call. Ive had 15 incredible series. Ive never been contracted for more than one year. I still wanted to be part of it. My passion is still very much there.”
Brendan also admitted, “Im disappointed. Ive always known this day would come. Im a very strong character, some dont like that.”
Meanwhile, Strictly fans are counting down the days until the new series kicks off this Autumn.
Big names set to impress judges Craig Revel-Horwood, Bruno Tonioli, Darcey Bussell and Shirley Ballas include the likes of Lee Ryan, Ashley Roberts and Stacey Dooley.
