Christine Lampard has been covering Lorraine Kelly's summer break, but now she's set to take some time out as she prepares to give birth to her first child.
And, no expecting mums pregnancy is complete without a baby shower. So the show decided to throw the 39-year-old her very own shower live on air, complete with some very special messages from some of Christines famous friends.
This Mornings Phillip Schofield was on hand to give the presenter some luck, in a sweet video.
“Congratulations on all your hard work for Lorraine this summer, but more importantly heres to what is about to happen, you are going to be the very best mum. Enjoy it and Ill look forward to seeing all of you very soon,” he said.
And, Rochelle Humes – who will be taking over presenting duties on the ITV morning show next Monday – had some very honest advice for the first time mum.
“I just wanted to wish you the very best of luck before you have youre lovely baby, youre going to be the best mum ever! A bit of advice for you though, when everyone says to you get the rest now, they really mean it because I wish I did. So make the most of eating everything, sleep as much as you can and enjoy. Youre going to be the best,” she advised.
That sounds like some fantastic advice to us.
And, while Piers Morgan has been off our screens for quite some time now, he couldnt miss the opportunity to wish both Christine and her Derby football manager husband Frank Lampard some luck for the future.
“Christine, its Piers here. Im breaking off from my holiday as I hear youre going off on your on little adventure. And I just want to say its obviously going to be an exciting, unpredictable and potentially quite tough time for the Lampard family over the next few months, but Im keeping every finger crossed because with a good run of results, a couple of big transfers in January, I think Derby will be just fine.”
Er, Piers we think you missed the memo.
Thankfully, Christine is feeling just fine about becoming a mum for the first time, but she did admit the nerves have kicked in.
“I feel really good. I feel a bit nervous now, I feel like Ive been in a lovely bubble for the past few weeks on this show, now that its done, this is going to happen. But I feel good, very good,” she confessed.
Well, were wishing you the best of luck, Christine!
