Loose Women viewers were left outraged after Kim Woodburn's recent appearance on the show.
Recently, ITV viewers were left shocked after Kim Woodburns appearance on the Loose Women panel ended in an altercation with Coleen Nolan.
Kim had appeared on the show with the intention of amending her rift with Coleen, who she infamously fell out with during the pairs appearance on Celebrity Big Brother last year.
However, the segment did not go to plan – as conversation soon turned hostile between Coleen and her sister Linda Nolan and Kim, leading to the 76-year-old making a very distressed exit from the show.
Following the incredibly controversial episode, which went on to include to segment about mental health, thousands of upset viewers complained to Ofcom – leading to the launch of an investigation into the show.
In fact, the episode has now wracked up over 7,900 complaints, with a further 4,000 viewers calling for Coleen to be sacked from her job over Kims treatment.
In an official statement shared with Digital Spy, a spokesperson for Ofcom said: “We are investigating whether this programme fell short of generally accepted standards.”
Ofcom have also recently confirmed an investigation into reality TV show Celebrity Big Brother, following viewer outrage at Emmerdale actress Roxanne Pallets allegations of physical abuse against series winner and Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas.
Its believed that over 25,257 viewers complained about the allegations made by Roxanne to Ofcom, expressing “offence, distress and concern” at both her comments and Ryan not being shown the footage of the incident.
In a statement shared with Digital Spy, Ofcom confirmed the investigation into the reality TV show (which has now been officially axed from Channel 5): “We are investigating whether this programme broke our rules on offensive content.”
