We're used to seeing the TV star as a bubbly presenter, as he visits dog homes and travels across the world.
However, Paul OGrady was forced to act out after a homophobic thug verbally abused his husband, Andre Portasio, while they were travelling on a London-bound flight on Sunday.
Paul, 63, revealed how he squared up to the passenger, after he heard him brand his partner a “f***ing q**r” while taunting him with a sexual jibe.
“Things could have easily turned nasty” revealed the TV presenter, who was on his way back from a romantic trip to Bangkok with ballet dancer Andre, 37.
“I stood up and said, Youre lucky were not in the street, mate, because youd be eating your dinner through a straw,'” Paul told The Sun.
“He didnt know I was sitting next to Andre, then the bonehead was saying something about me thinking I could do whatever I wanted because I was famous.
“He claimed Andre had been looking at him which was ridiculous, I mean, he was this typical English yob with a beard and a beer belly.”
Luckily, the man was removed from business class by a member of the cabin crew, leaving Paul and Andre to continue with their journey.
But upon the flights arrival at Londons Heathrow airport, the man was pulled aside by the police, although Paul decided against pressing charges for the incident.
Paul and Andre – who started dating in 2001 and share two children together – have been happily married for just over a year, after tying the knot at an intimate ceremony.
The big day reportedly included guests such as comedian Julian Clary and actor Ian McKellen.
Speaking of their romance in his 2012 biography, Paul gushed, Our relationship just crept up on us. It took us by surprise when we were least expecting it.
He later shared that the secret to their successful relationship is living apart.
“When youve had enough, you can say, Ill see you, Im off'” he joked.
Haha!
