NEW DELHI: Shares of Indiabulls Real Estate (down 5.10 per cent), DLF (down 3.67 per cent), Unitech (down 3.57 per cent) and Phoenix Mills (down 3.54 per cent) were incurring strong losses in Tuesday's session, dragging the realty index down.

The Nifty Realty was trading 1.55 per cent down at 232 at 11:28 am.

Shares of Housing Development & Infrastructure (HDIL) (down 1.52 per cent) and Prestige Estates Projects (down 1.43 per cent) also suffered losses.

However, Sobha (up 3.03 per cent), Oberoi Realty (up 2.94 per cent), Brigade Enterprises (up 1.21 per cent) and Godrej Properties (up 0.23 per cent) were in the green zone.

Equity benchmarks were trading on a volatile course. Wobbly crude oil prices and subdued rupee checked the risk appetite of market.

The NSE Nifty50 index was up 34 points at 11,002, while the BSE Sensex was up 156 points at 36,461.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 were trading in the green, while 23 were in the red.

Axis Bank, Sun Pharma, IndusInd Bank, YES Bank and Tech Mahindra were among the top Nifty gainers.

Indiabulls Housing Finance, GAIL (India), BPCL, HPCL and Tata Steel were among the top losers in the Nifty pack of stocks.
