Share market update: Realty index falls over 2%; Indiabulls Real Estate, DLF top losers

NEW DELHI: Most realty stocks were suffering losses in Friday's session, keeping the sectoral index down.

The Nifty Realty index was trading 2.04 per cent down at 226 around 12:11 pm with all components in the red.

Indiabulls Real Estate (down 6.19 per cent) was the top loser in the realty index, followed by DLF (down 3.20 per cent), Housing Development & Infrastructure (down 2.75 per cent) and Brigade Enterprises (down 2.56 per cent).

Prestige Estates Projects (down 1.82 per cent), Unitech (down 1.79 per cent), Godrej Properties (down 1.49 per cent), Sobha (down 0.78 per cent), Phoenix Mills (down 0.61 per cent) and Oberoi Realty (down 0.31 per cent) declined in that order.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 32 points at 11,010, while the BSE Sensex was up 150 points at 36,474.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 were trading in the green, while 23 were in the red.

State Bank of India, HDFC, GAIL (India) and HPCL were among the top gainers in the Nifty index.

YES Bank, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Tata Steel, Vedanta and Bharti Airtel were amomg the top losers in the Nifty pack.
