The Royal wedding was a star-studded affair and everything ran by the book, but a blunder on the subtitles for BBC news about Eugeines dress had many people commenting on it.
As the spokesperson commented on her dress, the subtitles made a mistake, writing, “What a beautiful breasts,” instead of “What a beautiful dress.”
The couple, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, wed today at St Georges chapel, Windsor, with Eugenie wearing an off the shoulder gown by London-based design duo Christopher de Vos and Peter Pilotto.
But many took to Twitter to comment on the mistake with one viewer commenting: “Either the subtitles machine is broken or BBC News are getting rather personal about Princess Eugenie.”
Another wrote: “BBC Subtitles at it again… Is Boris writing the subtitles?”
While a third said: “The BBCs subtitles during a #RoyalWedding news report made QUITE the error.”
Responding to the moment, a spokesperson for the BBC said: “Our live subtitling service produces accuracy levels in excess of 98% but, as with all broadcasters, there are instances – particularly during live broadcasts – when mistakes happen.
“On this occasion the voice recognition subtitling software made an error.”
It was reported earlier this month that the BBC declined to cover the event, as they believed it wouldnt be as popular with fans as Harry and Meghans was. Instead ITV covered the event, in the place of This Morning.
Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes presented the coverage, which showed celebrities such as Robbie Williams, Liv Tyler and Ellie Goulding arrive.
Ruth and Eamonn then commented through the Royal family arriving including the Queen, the bridesmaids and page boys including Princess Charlotte and Prince George, and then finally Eugenie arriving.
The coverage then saw Prince Andrew walk her down the aisle, Jack become overwhelmed with emotion when he saw his bride and maid of honour Princess Beatrice read a passage from The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
