Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson has been issued a formal apology following reports she was set to write a tell-all book on the royals.
The original story – published by a US magazine – was titled Sarah Ferguson reportedly offered $15million for Royal family tell-all book.
It suggested Fergie was ready to spill the beans on her time hanging out with the royals throughout her marriage to Prince Andrew, Duke of York, who is the second son of the Queen.
However, the publication has now issued an apology to Sarah after admitting it was based on “pure speculation”.
The apology reads: “We now unreservedly accept that any suggestion that Sarah, Duchess of York, is considering writing or accepting financial reward for any such book about the Royal Family was based on pure speculation, and is totally without foundation.
“We sincerely apologise to the Duchess for suggesting otherwise.”
Sarah, who is the mother to Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, re-posted the admission from the publication onto her own Instagram account.
Its been an incredibly busy few weeks for Sarah, as her youngest daughter Princess Eugenie of York married Jack Brooksbank last Friday.
Sarah was married into the royal family for ten years, throughout her relationship with Prince Andrew.
Despite their split in 1996, the pair appear to have remained close – with Sarah recently wishing her former husband a happy birthday on social media.
Sharing a tribute, Sarah posted a message which read: “Happy birthday to the best man, father, friend….Prince Andrew. Feb 19…ooh the best looking @hrhthedukeofyork #birthday”
At the time, followers had been quick to share their own well wishes for the duo, with many asking if a reconciliation would ever happen.
One user said: Its so good to see that you two have remained close. Really looking forward to HRH Princess Eugenie wedding.
