Travel experts at Lonely Planet voted Copenhagen the number one city break destination for next year.
Denmarks “capital of cool” is famed for its world-renowned food scene and picturesque old town.
The best food market in town – Paper Island – is the perfect place to try Denmark's famous open sandwiches (smørrebrøds).
Across the bridge from Paper Island is one of the most famous streets in the Scandinavian city.
Nyhavn, which can be found on nearly ever postcard, is comprised of pretty multicoloured houses along the river.
If you cant wait until next year, Copenhagen is great for a winter break.
Tivoli Gardens, a famous amusement park and pleasure garden, erupts into a festive frenzy throughout December.
Inside you can buy handmade decorations, ride fairy-lit rollercoasters and sip on hot gløgg (mulled wine).
Experts at Lonely Planet named Shenzhen in China the second best city to visit, followed by Novi Sad in Serbia and Miami in Florida.
