'Sheridan' TV Series – 05 Nov 2017 Sheridan Smith stars in her own tv special, exclusively for ITV. This one-off TV extravaganza sees the multi award-winning actress and singer headline her very own show, Sheridan, for the first time. The star of ITV shows such as Mrs Biggs and Cilla – for which she won a BAFTA TV Award – will showcase exclusive performances of songs from her new album, as well as an array of stunning musical numbers, all accompanied by a live orchestra. Sheridan also talks about her life, stratospheric career and status as a national treasure.

Following the devastating loss of her father, Sheridan Smith announced some happy news – as fiancé Jamie Horn popped the question in May of this year.

Now, 37-year-old Sheridan has revealed how Jamie, 28, helped her get her life back together – speaking in incredibly emotional scenes from upcoming ITV documentary, Sheridan Smith: Coming Home.

Sheridan was left grief-stricken after her father Colin died in 2016, following a hard-fought cancer battle.

Recounting the harrowing moments towards the end of her dads life, Sheridan recalled her starring role in West End musical Funny Girl – which she was forced to neglect following the diagnosis.

“As soon as my Dad got that diagnosis it was like, Im not leaving your side, Im not leaving you. And my mum was like, Well, youve got to get back, youve got the show, you cant let people down.”

“My dad was saying the same, Oh love, dont worry about me, but how can you not, he was my rock,” she emotionally recalled.

“Theyve taught me that the show goes on, even if theyre ill and I get that, but at the time I was like, Hang on a minute, reality check, I dont want to leave my dad.

When her father died, the actress sadly spiraled into a crippling battle with anxiety and depression: “I kind of lost the plot after that and had a massive meltdown. I ran away.”

However, Sheridan then highlighted how Jamie has been her saving grace – and, only two months after they met on dating app Tinder, she knew he was who shed spend her life with.

“Ive got doctors care, Im feeling great, I got engaged, Im in a very happy place (laughs) so Im very happy and you know thats it. I couldnt ask for more really.

“I think Im the happiest Ive been right now,” she said. “Eating a sausage, chips and gravy with the love of my life and my new puppy.”

Sheridan Smith: Coming Home will air on Sunday, November 4 at 9.30pm on ITV.
