Susanna Reid revealed last month that shed lost more than a stone after overhauling her lifestyle and cutting out alcohol.
And in a new interview, the Good Morning Britain presenter has now admitted she was keen to ditch the booze after a doctor warned her she had crept up to the “top end” of the body mass index scale.
“When you cut alcohol out that is an easy couple of pounds,” she said.
“As you get older your memory is affected. I just thought alcohol is not great for your memory.”
But the 47-year-old has admitted that going teetotal isnt exactly easy, as she added on the Is It Just Me? podcast, “I really miss it.
“When you are in a big social group and the shots come out, I miss letting my hair down.”
This comes after Susanna recently spoke out about her weightloss journey on GMB.
When fellow presenter Kate Garraway asked how she was feeling about her late night at the GQ awards with Piers Morgan, Susanna said, “I am sober for September, is that a thing?
Piers, 53, then joked about it live on air, as he told viewers, “Weve got a reaction to Susannas revelation that she is on a dry September.
“Judy in Richmond says Susanna Reid looks like shes lost four pounds. Its actually 12 pounds, since she stopped drinking.”
To which Susanna then revealed shes actually lost a stone. Good work!
As well as cutting out alcohol, Susanna has previously revealed that sleep is a key element to staying healthy, especially when she has those VERY early mornings to contend with.
Speaking to the Guardian last year, she said, “Im quite rigid with my optimum pattern and religious about sleep.
“Sleeps the altar I worship at. Like my meals, its precious and scheduled. Im in bed by 9pm and the alarm goes off at 3.45am.”
Rather you than us, Susanna!
