Danny John-Jules was eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing at the weekend, but he failed to appear on the spin-off show as planned on Monday night.
The couple who leave the show usually appear on BBC Twos It Takes Two for an exit chat with Zoe Ball.
But professional dancer Amy Dowden appeared alone without Red Dwarf actor Danny.
Zoe – who presents It Takes Two – said she was “disappointed” that Danny had “decided not to join us tonight”.
And, following rumours of Danny “bullying” Amy in the training room, Amy said, “Things did get a little bit intense the other day in rehearsals.
“But do you know what, we took a half an hour break and then got straight to it. Ive never felt bullied or threatened by Danny.”
However, she added her experience on the show was something she would “never forget”.
She said: “Im so proud of Danny. He is such a talented performer. Danny, you belong there and I hope to see you on the stage performing very soon.”
Earlier in the day, Danny had tweeted a message to Amy saying: “I should have expressed my gratitude more often. You truly inspired me.
“I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the knowledge I have taken away with me.”
Danny was the first to score 10 points from a judge last week, when Amy danced the Jive to Flip, Flop, Fly by Ellis Hall.
But he also previously confessed hed collapsed in the training room.
Danny said, “Its cardio, fitness. I havent moved like that since a long time. You worry about slowing down and if you slow down its a bit of a no-no.
“I did collapse after the second run, the tech run on Friday.”
He carried on by saying, “The floor manager looked down at me looking up at the ceiling and asked me: Do you want to do another one?”
