Share market update: Auto shares in the red; TVS Motor dips nearly 2%

NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading in the red with the Nifty Auto index down 0.18 per cent down at 9102.65 on Thursday.
Shares of TVS Motor Company (down 1.84 per cent), Apollo Tyres (down 1.06 per cent), Tata Motors (DVR) (down 0.60 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra (down 0.58 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.

Bajaj Auto (down 0.37 per cent), Bharat Forge (down 0.32 per cent), Eicher Motors (down 0.27 per cent) and Tata Motors (down 0.24 per cent) too were trading in the red.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 37.85 points at 10,637.9 while BSE Sensex was up 145.28 points at 35,345.08 around 10:28 am.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 28 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Idea Cellular, Ashok Leyland, NHPC, Bank of Baroda, Vedanta, SBI, Indian Oil Corp, ICICI Bank, Infosys, Tata Motors, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Tata Steel, BHEL and Hindalco Industries were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
