Congratulations are in order because Coronation Street star Alex Bain has become a dad at the age of 17.
Alex, who plays Simon Barlow in the ITV soap, welcomed an adorable baby girl with his girlfriend Levi Selby on Sunday.
The happy couple announced the name of their little one – which is Lydia-Rose Bain – on Facebook and were met with hundreds of well wishes from friends and family.
“Levi and Alex shes absolute gorgeous she really is beautiful, you must be so proud. Youre gonna make the most amazing parents, well done and big congratulations… lots of love to you both,” said one.
Another added, “Aww she looks like her daddy x,” while a third said, “She just beautiful cant wait to meet her xxx”
Alex and Levi reportedly started dating back in April last year and news of the baby spread after Alex told friends at his school in May.
Revealing her pregnancy on her Facebook page, Levi shared a picture of her 12-week scan at the time along with the caption “December 8″, seemingly revealing the due date of their child.
Her mum, Judith Calvert, also shared the baby scan on her own Facebook page, telling her friends “Call me Granny Walton”.
A source has since told The Sun, “Theyd had to deal with a lot and theyre both so young.
“But theyre absolutely over the moon – its the greatest gift they could have hoped for this Christmas.”
Alex joined the Corrie cobbles more than 10 years ago.
When he was just 11-years-old, the budding actor won Best Young Performance at the British Soap Awards for his portrayal of Peter Barlows son.
Hes since been nominated for Soap Awards four times.
Congrats, guys!
