He was noticeably absent from this years Im A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! but it seems Ant McPartlin could be making his comeback much earlier than anticipated.
According to The Sun, the 43-year-old has been given the all clear to return to work in the New Year, and will kick his TV return off with filming the auditions for Britains Got Talent in January.
Ant is also set to co-present the Britains Got Talent live shows later that year alongside his trusty TV sidekick and best friend Dec Donnelly.
And after temporarily handing over the Im a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here reigns to fellow presenter and showbiz chum Holly Willoughby, Ant is also expected to head Down Under for the next instalment of the hit reality show.
A source close to the star said: “Ant has completed his recovery and ITV has decided he is ready to be back at work for Britains Got Talent filming, which starts next month.
“Its been an incredible difficult two-year period but he has been entirely focused on turning his life around in order to return to work.”
Continuing they added: “ITV is very excited about Ant and Dec being reunited – but Ants recovery has been everyones first priority.”
Ant has spent a total of eight months away from the presenting career he forged over decades to fight his demons and to deal with his much publicised divorce from Strictly Come Dancing make-up artist Lisa Armstrong.
And while fans will be excited to hear that hell be bringing his signature brand of humour back to ITV, they may be disappointed to learn that he wont feature on a 2019 edition of Saturday Night Takeaway.
According to the same publication the show has been cancelled for next year because of the amount of advance filming required for the various segments.
We cant wait for the cheeky duo that is Ant and Dec to be reunited on our favourite shows once more.
Let the countdown begin!
