CITY BREAKS: There are many things to do in Manchester, like visit Coronation Street (Pic: GETTY • PH)
If you are looking to go to Manchester but dont want to stay in the thick of it all, Oddfellows on the Park could be the hotel for you.
This boutique hotel is set in the vast grounds of Bruntwood Park, but is only minutes away from the airport and the city centre.
A beautiful Victorian mansion, the new 22-room hotel boasts a restaurant, cocktail bar and luxurious spa called The Pigsty.
The spa sits in a separate building adjacent to the hotel and has two treatment rooms and a Rasul mud room – which I can thoroughly recommend.

The “Wallow in Mud” treatment – which costs £50 for one person or £80 for two – is a 40 minute self-applied treatment which includes a Himalayan salt scrub followed by mineral mud.
Then relax in the steam room followed by an application of body cream completes this purifying and skin-softening ritual.
As well as the mud room, the spa offers a full range of treatments from manicures and pedicures to facials and massages.
If you want to treat yourself, book a table at The Galloping Restaurant, situated in what was once the Halls original ballroom.
VISIT: The hotel is set in the grounds of Brentwood Park (Pic: PH)
Its open daily for lunch and dinner, serving the very best of British produce with an Oddfellows twist.
I opted for the Stone Bass with mushroom ketchup, turnip and girolles, £18.50. But if you cant decide from the mouth watering menu there is a Taster of Everything menu.
For desert I can highly recommend the maple parfait, spiced pear and oat, £8.
There are endless things to see and do in Manchester including shopping. The Intu Trafford Centre is only 10 minutes away from Oddfellows and if shopping is your thing its a must.
It boasts popular stores including a Selfridges, Victorias Secret and Primark, along with more than 60 restaurants and an Odeon Imax cinema.
