There is a way of getting a few in-flight perks, even if you havent paid for the extras.

Whether its receiving First Class treats or extra meals, there is always a way to bag a cheeky freebie.

According to Skyscanner, members of cabin crew claim all you need to do is ask very nicely.

So what can perks are you entitled to?

1. First Class treats

Even thought you might be flying Economy, you can still enjoy treats from the First Class package.

Some cabin crew staff will offer these out to passengers who ask politely.

Although there are no guarantees, you are more likely to win favours by being nice.

2. Extra in-flight comforts

If youre struggling to get cosy on a 10-hour flight, airplanes are well-stocked with eye masks, ear plugs and socks.

The most under-used air travel extra is the airline pyjamas, which are available in Business/First Class flights.

But if you accidentally spill your food down your top, there is a possibility you will be granted a pair of pjs.

3. Extra meals

Its always worth asking about a second serving of breakfast or dinner, as some passengers skip meals.

Wait until the cabin crew have served everyone, then politely ask if there are any spare meals.

4. Extra help with children

Believe it or not, most cabin crew members will sympathise and try to help.

This includes holding your baby while you store hand luggage, keeping kids entertained with colouring books and even provide designates childcare.

For example, Etihad provide an onboard nanny on some of their flights.

Alternatively, you can ask about activity packs when you board.
