NEW DELHI: Equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty extended their losing streak to the third consecutive session on Monday as the weak global sentiment continued weighing on.
Sensex fell 272 points, or 0.76 per cent, for the day to end at 35,470, with 25 stocks ending in the red and only six in the green.
The Nifty50 lost 91 points, or 0.84 per cent, to settle at 10,663, with 14 stocks advancing and 36 declining.
Monday's fall caused BSE listed firms to lose Rs 1.22 lakh crore cumulatively in market capitalisation from 1,43,30,309 crore on Friday to Rs 1,42,08,021 crore.
The market fall in last three days has eroded total wealth of companies of more than Rs 3.75 lakh crore.
