Share market update: Realty shares mixed; Brigade Enterprises surges nearly 14%

NEW DELHI: Realty shares closed on a mixed note with the Nifty Realty index closing 0.24 per cent up at 233.95 on Wednesday.

Shares of Brigade Enterprises (up 13.90 per cent), Sunteck Realty (up 1.46 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate (up 0.62 per cent) and Prestige Estates Projects (up 0.61 per cent) stood among the top performers in the index.

Phoenix Mills (down 2.08 per cent), Sobha (down 1.37 per cent), Oberoi Realty (down 1.22 per cent) and DLF (down 0.28 per cent) closed in the red.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index closed up 66.35 points at 10,729.85 while the BSE Sensex closed 179.79 points higher at 35,649.94.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 shares closed in the green, while 16 shares closed in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, SAIL, Indian Oil Corp, Bank of Baroda, BHEL, SBI, BEL, Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, Vedanta, ONGC, Zee Entertainment, ICICI Bank and NTPC stood among the most traded securities on the NSE.
