And now, to make things cheaper for those wanting to fly across the pond, people can bag themselves a huge bargain over Christmas.
Virgin Atlantic has slashed prices on several flights to the US.
The Virgin Atlantic website has announced their winter sale starts with prices from as little as £279 for a return ticket.
Locations in the winter sale include Miami, Boston, New York, LA, San Francisco and Las Vegas.
The airline is even discounting prices for those travelling from London to the Caribbean.
Youll have to be quick though, as the discount will only apply if you book before January 31, 2019.
According to money saving website hotukdeals, some return flights to the US costing £288 include meals and drinks, as well as 10kg of hand luggage.
