Nothing quite says "were a serious couple now" like an Instagram shot from your first mini break with a new beau.
But when is the right time to take the plunge and holidaying together for the first time?
A new survey carried out by Alpharooms – a leading holiday booking website – may have the answer.
It turns out that 1 in 3 (39%) couples actually waited more than a year before going on holiday together
However a bold 24% went on their first couples holiday when they'd only been dating between 0-3 months.
When it came to how long you should go away for on a first holiday, the response seemed to suggest less is more with 35% of those polled saying 5-7 days is the perfect amount of time to spend together.
Close behind, a more cautious 27% said 3-4 days is the sweet spot.
Either way the consensus seemed to be 3 days is the minimum but don't push your luck and go for over a week.
Sarah Louise Ryan, a relationship expert and dating writer, believes that a holiday is a good litmus test to see if your relationship will go the distance.
