A homeworker who had previously only sold one MSC Cruises holiday has landed a whopping six bookings after visiting flagship MSC Bellissima.

Travel Counsellor Michelle Leonard was onboard the vessel over its christening weekend in Southampton last month and, as a result, was equipped with the knowledge to book eight cabins and £25,000-worth of sales just days later.

Bolton-based Leonard told TTG she would not usually sell that quantity of cruise holidays during an entire year, for any line.

“I wouldnt have been able to make those sales without going onboard the ship and sharing my experiences with clients,” she said.

“Straight after disembarking, I sent an email to customers I felt it suited best and had a great response.”

MSC invited 3,000 agents from the UK and Ireland onboard Bellissima during its launch last month.

Steve Williams, director of sales UK and Ireland, thanked Leonard and revealed he had seen similar stories from other trade partners.

Leonard had attended the naming of Bellissima as a guest of Reubens Retreat, with the evening hosted by presenter Holly Willoughby.

Last week, Willoughby put her dress worn on the night up for raffle in
aid of the charity, founded by travel industry professionals Nicola and Mike Graham after the
death of their son Reuben from a rare
type of brain tumour.

She met also with Nicola and son Isaac during Bellissimas naming.

Every £10 donated equates to one place in the raffle, with a winner set to be drawn on April 9.
