NEW DELHI: Metal shares were trading lower in Tuesday's morning session.
Shares of Steel Authority of India (SAIL) (down 1.86 per cent) , Welspun Corp (down 1.67 per cent) , Tata Steel (down 1.39 per cent) and Jindal Steel & Power (down 0.94 per cent) were the worst performers in the index.
National Aluminium Company (down 0.84 per cent) , MOIL (down 0.28 per cent) , Hindalco Industries (down 0.27 per cent) and Vedanta (down 0.26 per cent) too were trading lower.
The Nifty Metal index was trading 0.08 per cent down at 3051.80 around 10:43 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 21.85 points at 11,616.30 while the BSE Sensex was up 76.56 points at 38,721.74.
