The Jeremy Kyle Show has been axed permanently by ITV following the death of a guest who appeared on the programme.

ITVs CEO Carolyn McCall said in a statement today, “Given the gravity of recent events we have decided to end production of The Jeremy Kyle Show.

“Everyone at ITVs thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of Steve Dymond.”

A review of the episode will be taking place and ITV said they still plan to work with host Jeremy Kyle on other projects.

ITV had initially suspended filming and announced they would not screen the episode, but the broadcaster faced mounting pressure to permanently cancel the long-running series.

Following his tragic death, Stevens ex-fiancee Jane spoke to the The Sun, telling the publication, “I know we split up a week ago but we were together for two years. I still loved him.

“We got engaged Christmas Day 2017. He was crying, the love was real. He was the most generous and loving person.

“He was quietly struggling, and we didnt know at the time. He cheated on me, I know he did. I cant forgive but I just want him to be alive.”
