Kochi: Despite a good harvest of cocoa in the current season, bean prices in the country remain high because of poor output six months ago. The cocoa bean prices are averaging Rs 200 per kg now.
“The harvest season started in March instead of the usual April and the output is better than last time, said Suresh Bhandary, MD of Campco, a major cocoa processor and chocolate producer.
