While the hack wont always work, it does up your chances of getting upgraded.

Apparently, this gives you a better chance of being randomly allocated a premium spot thats not been sold yet.
This tactic worked for Tom as he jetted off to Portugal.
He revealed: "On my way to Porto I got 05A, on my way back 01A!"
Typically, the same seats would have to be snapped up for an extra £7 per flight.
This doesnt seem like a lot, but it does make a difference.
