NEW DELHI: Metal shares were trading with gains in Friday's morning session.
Shares of Jindal Steel & Power (up 2.13 per cent), Tata Steel (up 1.75 per cent), NMDC (up 1.32 per cent) and Steel Authority of India (SAIL) (up 0.86 per cent) were the top performers in the index.
Vedanta (up 0.82 per cent), National Aluminium Company (up 0.75 per cent), Welspun Corp (up 0.73 per cent) and Hindalco Industries (up 0.50 per cent) too were trading with gains.
The Nifty Metal index was trading 0.52 per cent up at 2819.70 around 10:46 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 1.50 points at 11,581.40 while the BSE Sensex was up 10.97 points at 38,834.08.
