To some it was the physical embodiment of arrogance, entitlement, disrespect and contempt for our parliament to others it was an opportunity for the internet to do what it does best – take the meme.
Jacob Rees-Moggs leisurely approach to the Brexit debate was captured on camera by Labour MP Anna Turley, who was among many who took a dislike to the North East Somerset MPs posture yesterday.
Despite the apparent laid-back attitude of the Leader of the House, the government lost the emergency debate with MPs voting for the motion proposed by Sir Oliver Letwin, by 328 votes to 301.
The Government then suffered a second successive defeat today when the Brexit Bill passed its first stage.

Whether this tweet, which has so far been shared more than 93,000 times, provided much needed relief to the Brexit debate or perfectly captured the differences in attitudes toward it all is up for debate.
