Thousands of ridiculously dressed people gathered in Dorset for a hat festival which is head and shoulders above the rest.
Bridport Hat Festival features a jamboree of hat related activities and competitions including best hat, best hatted dog, best hatted couple and most elegant ensemble – presumably involving a hat.
The best hatted gentleman did his best to blend in with surroundings with a wonderful floral theme and a topiary top hat.
Now in its ninth year, the volunteer-led event is Bridports summer send off and includes a large party in the Dorset town.
It has a serious side to it as well with money raised throughout the weekend going to head-related charities.
This years beneficiary is the Brain Tumour Trust.
Others got their pets in on the action during Haturday – the main day of the festival.
