A dad spent £30,000 of his life savings earmarked for his sons inheritance to fight for justice over a £100 speeding fine.
Richard Keedwell, 71, argued he was wrongly clocked doing 35mph in a 30mph zone on a day trip to Worcester in 2016.
He launched a legal battle against the notice and said a seriously flawed legal system meant he had been fighting the fine for nearly three years.
Richard has used up all the money he hoped would one day go to his son in the process.
According to the BBC, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said the case involved a multiplicity of issues which added to the time it has taken to conclude.
Retired engineer Richard, of Yate, near Bristol, said: I was very surprised when I got the NIP [Notice of Intended Prosecution].
I really could not believe that I had been speeding. It made a simple day out turn very sour actually.
