The government has spent £30,531 on social media adverts that promise Brexit is happening on October 31, Facebook data has revealed.
Their launch on September 4 comes just as MPs voted to make a no-deal departure from the EU illegal today.
According to the data, the targeted adverts aim to give information to businesses and members of the public as the nation approaches the Halloween deadline.
The campaign has also been featured on other social media networks, as well as posters and billboards up and down the country.
However, its estimated that the total cost of promotional efforts will cost the taxpayer around £100,000,000, as funding for most of the formats is not publicly available.
Political parties spending on their main pages has also been revealed, with the Brexit Party and Nigel Farage pages spending £48,113 on adverts over the last 30 days.
