A mum is trying to raise ?10,000 to care for her son at home after he was gravely injured in a car crash. Helen Womack wants to take her 24-year-old son Ryan Womack out of the care home he currently lives in and bring him back home after he suffered serious brain damage in a car crash in October, 2018. Ryan was working as a tree surgeon in Manchester when the incident occurred. He left his friend's house to visit a nearby chippy before losing control of his car on a bend. The crash nearly killed Ryan.

A kind-hearted stranger has offered more than £100,000 worth of equipment to a man who suffered severe brain injuries following an accident.

Ryan Womack, 24, was left paralysed following a crash in Manchester in October, and is being cared for by a team at Stocks Hall Care Home in Mawdesley, Ormskirk.

Mum Helen Womack wants to care for her son in the comfort of their own home but cant afford the expensive costs of the equipment former tree surgeon Ryan needs.

She set up a GoFundMe to help cover costs and was shocked when she received an emotional message from a stranger offering £150,000 worth of care equipment.

The support equipment had been used to care for Carol Davies late husband Donald Berry who was left disabled after an accident in 2010.

I cant give it away, said Carol, from Lancaster. Ive offered it up for free for three years, put it on Ebay but no one wants it, I cant pay people to take it.

Carols late husband Donald had been working as a crane driver at Kendal Calling when his crane hit a live wire and gave him an electric shock.

The shock shut off oxygen to the father-of-ones brain and left him severely disabled.

Carol, who has since remarried, said: Its such a shame, we got no help from the government, it cost us £210,000 a year for care which we had to pay for ourselves.

We had nine carers coming to the house each day.

Carols money ran out quickly and Donald had to be moved to a care home.

But Carol, keen to have her husband back, had a new plan and bought a larger five-bedroom house, hoping to pay less for live-in carers.

It was all planned out, said Carol.

I was going to cover some of Donalds care to bring the cost down but when we bought this house he never made it back.

Donald passed away on August 23, 2016, at the age of 51.

Carol said sepsis and pneumonia were thought to have been the cause of his death.
