A GP is no longer allowed to see female patients without a chaperone after an allegation of sexual assault.

Dr Prakashchandra Jain, 69, was arrested last month and has not returned to work since he was released by police under investigation.

The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service has now imposed temporary conditions on Dr Jain following a tribunal on Wednesday.

Restrictions include a ban on seeing female patients without a chaperone unless it is a life-threatening emergency.

He must log every consultation with a female patient and get it signed by the chaperone.
