Organisers have cancelled a half-marathon after police reported a man "acting suspiciously" near the route.
The Great Eastern Run was due to take place in Peterborough on Sunday, but the race director called it off about half an hour after the scheduled start time "in the interests of safety".
Cambridgeshire Police had been called at 9.50am to reports of a man acting suspiciously on Alexandra Road, close to the wet and windy route, and the information was passed on by officers.

Confirming the cancellation on Twitter, organisers said: "In the interest of safety for our participants we took the decision to cancel the half marathon half an hour after its original start time because of police information that a man was acting suspiciously close to the route."
Around 4,000 people had signed up to take part in the event.
