Liverpool legend Sir Kenny Dalglish has tested positive for coronavirus in hospital, his family have said.
The 69-year-old was admitted on Wednesday for "treatment of an infection which required intravenous antibiotics".
He subsequently tested positive for coronavirus but "remains asymptomatic".
Liverpool said their former player and manager was tested for COVID-19 "in keeping with current procedures".
The positive result was "unexpected" because Sir Kenny had not been displaying any symptoms.

Prior to entering hospital he had "chosen to voluntarily self isolate for longer than the advised period together with his family", the Merseyside club added.
It said Sir Kenny urged people to "follow the relevant government and expert guidance in the days and weeks ahead".
