Officers from Police Scotland are searching for the killer of a 42-year-old man who was shot dead in North Ayrshire.
Detectives say a gunman went into a house on Nithsdale Road, in the town of Ardrossan, around 4.50pm on Sunday.
They say the suspect "discharged what is believed to be a firearm before leaving the house" and the man died at the scene a short time later from serious injuries.
The victim and a 46-year-old woman were in the property at the time.
Police Scotland said a search for the suspect is ongoing and it is reviewing CCTV in the area.
